1429 Uncharted Seas Slot Machine
This slot starts with an opening sequence set in the cabin of a ship. There is a desk in the centre of the cabin, gently rocking with the motion of the sea and we close in on the contents of the desk to see the title of the slot and the features inscribed on a parchment. Then a map of the high seas is unrolled on top of the parchment – and this map, although it’s not immediately evident (possibly due to the map actually being at a slight angle), acts as the slot itself.
It has to be said that this is one of the most impressive looking slots I’ve come across. The map backdrop is drawn in a style befitting the era, with land at all four corners of the slot, each corner featuring an angel blowing wind across the sea. The sea itself takes up the majority of the map and this is where the symbols of the slot appear, although not on reels as you’d normally find, simply set against the sea. There is some animation during the game, especially with the expanding wild, which sees a serpent lift the ship into the air. When landing the free spins feature you’ll also see a clip of the sea in stormy seas, this round set against a much darker backdrop with lightning flashing across the symbols. The soundtrack to this slot is ideal – all of the sounds accompanying the slot enhancing the theme and this only improves during the feature.
This slot has one scatter symbol, which can earn you up to 50 free spins – this being the main feature of the game.
Set up and Play for 1429 Unchartered Seas
Although looking slightly different from your average slot, this is something of a standard 5 reel slot with 3 symbols showing on each reel. This particular game has 25 win lines and you’ll find an option to play fewer here. You’ll choose one of 15 different total stakes for each spin based upon your currency, which is slightly unusual as you’ll choose your stake per win line at many other online slots.
To gain a win you’ll need to land at least 3 consecutive symbols on a win line from left to right, some symbols being more profitable than others. The highest paying symbol is the mermaid, which pays out 50x your total stake when landing 5 in a row. This is actually five times more profitable than any other symbol – the turtle like creature and the octopus paying out 10x your total stake. Other standard symbols include a lobster, a strange looking fish, the sun, the moon and the stars.
The wild symbol in the game is the ship and this only appears on reels 2, 3 and 4. This will substitute for any other symbol apart from the bonus one. If this symbol appears, it will expand to take up the entire reel if it means that this would make a winning pay-line.
The final symbol at the slot is the compass and this is the scatter symbol. This is a colourful symbol, a mix of red, blue and yellow which makes it the most striking in the game. This will activate the free spins feature when appearing three or more times.
1429 Unchartered Seas Free Spins Round
The number of free spins you receive in this round is based upon the number of scatter symbols you received to land the feature. The standard amount is 10 free spins when landing the minimum 3 scatters, which will happen on most occasions. However should you land 4 scatters, you’ll double the number of free spins to 20 and if landing the maximum 5 scatters, you’ll have an enormous 50 free spins. Having landed the first two scatter symbols much of the slot will turn dark, highlighting the final reel/s, giving some added drama which is a nice touch.
1429 Unchartered Seas Conclusion
In terms of actual gameplay, this slot is not too different from any other, with the wild and the free spins round found at many other online games. However, what sets this title apart is the overall experience – the sumptuous graphics and the involving sound elevating this game above many of its compatriots. This is a slot I would certainly return to – it’s clear that Thunderkick have dedicated a lot of time and effort into making this slot look as good as it possibly can.
