Cruise Slots
Summer is upon us – and what screams summer more than escaping the monotony or our everyday lives and heading to some (real, actual, unwavering) sunshine for a week or two? Nothing!
Originally conceived in the 20th century as an all new way to enjoy a break, the idea of a cruise has gone from strength to strength in order to become one of the most popular forms of vacation out there. As we all know, slots technology is all about allowing the player to live the genuine high-light; so what could be a more fitting theme for a game than a cruise? Nothing!
Cruise is a 5-reel and 10-payline game from the good folks at SGS Universal, which is available across a wide roster of both national and international host sites and online casinos. The game is already making a great deal of waves (get it?) within the wider gaming industry on account of its highly engaging tropical theme, intuitive interface and exceptional level of both accessibility and playability.
As a bunch with a great deal of time for sun drenched quarterdecks, cocktails by the pool and of course video slots games – we just had to find out what all of the fuss was about!
10,000 Themes Below the Sea
The theme of the Cruise is rather charming from the second you lay eyes on it. With captivating animations occurring on a regular basis and the kinds of warm and rich colour’s you really struggle to draw away from when you sense your session may have come to an end, there’s a lot to be admired here.
The game’s five reels are each populated with their own dynamic range of relevant and topical images and symbols relating to the wider theme of a tropical seaborne adventure and beach-based holiday combined. While there is a lot on offer on this front, the game’s developers do very well not to overdo things – meaning that gameplay is not subject to troublesome hiccups that effect the overall playability and enjoyment of the console itself, as is so often the case with some of the lower spec, run of the mill games out there at the time being.
Though there’s a lot to marvel at here in terms of delectable graphics and sound effects, one concern when wading into a game such as this one is always whether or not it will be able to live up to expectation in terms of the competitiveness of play on offer for players of all experience levels and preferences. Which neatly brings us up to our next segment…
Symbols, Stakes, Wins
Given that cruise ships and gambling already go so well together (have you ever been on a ferry or cruise ship that didn’t have a blackjack and/or poker table?) it’s only right that a slot game that marries these two wonderful concepts together will offer some chances for winning that we can all really get our teeth stuck into.
As already covered, Cruise has 10 paylines and 5 reels. Across the 10 paylines a player may stake from 0.01 to 5.00, providing a total win (in the event that all reels are activated) of 50.00. Hardly big bucks on the table here, but certainly worth a punt – especially if you are more drawn towards leisurely play over high stakes, competitive stuff.
As for the game’s symbols and combos, Cruise provides players with a pretty standard format to play around with. Wilds not only help to form any winning line but will act to double the value of any prize that play a part in. Landing five wild symbols on an active payline will results in players being awarded with the top tier prize of 9,000x their bet for that line.
Cruising for Some Fun
The verdict drawn from a few hours’ play on this slot is very much split down the middle. On one hand, there’s a great deal to openly admit one’s love for as far as the looks, sounds, layout and composition of the whole things goes.
However, if you’re looking for the game within which to grab your next big jackpot, you may be on the wrong boat.
Indeed, there is opportunity to win big. But, as anyone who has ever spent some serious time in the land of slots will know, occasion’s where you’re lucky enough to land five wilds across your active reels truly are few and far between!
