The boxing match between Jake Paul and Mike Tyson attracted more bets than any other event in combat sports history.

According to Caesars Sportsbook Vice President of Trading Craig Mucklow, the bout’s betting handle was similar to that of a Monday Night Football NFL game. He told the Associated Press that the fight touched many demographics, from older people who saw Tyson in his heyday to a younger crowd who grew up following Jake Paul.

triple the number of wagers and quadruple the total stakes of any combat sports event

BetMGM accepted triple the number of wagers and quadruple the total stakes of any combat sports event in the operator’s six-year history. Most of the action at BetMGM was on prop bets, such as how the fight would finish.

Despite Jake Paul being the strong favorite, the majority of wagers backed a Tyson win, so the result was favorable to sportsbooks.
